It's Not Over
- Wanting to keep the girl but play the field
The man in question is trying to sweet talk his girl because she seems to be doubting him. He is going down a list of recent experiences, wondering which of these she might have seen!

You know it's not over, till the next one has begun.
Whatever the battle, this whole war has not been won.
So was it the waitress, at that bar in Battersea?
I thought you weren't looking, when she started snogging me?

Love is the beginning, and love is the end.
Happy with each other, no need to pretend.

You'll always be special, there's a place here just for you.
Don't throw it away now, despite what you think I do.
So was it the blonde girl, on the beach in Florida?
I thought you were packing, when I was undressing her.

Our life is a journey, to finish from start.
Two of us together, with you in my heart.

What was it I did then, are you starting to doubt me?
It's not what I wanted. It's not how it's meant to be.
So was it the red-head, in the chip shop down the road?
How could you have noticed, as the vinegar had flowed?

Love is the beginning, and love is the end.
Happy with each other, no need to pretend.

You know I still love you, and that it will always be.
And when you smile sweetly, I hope you're thinking of me.
So was it the barmaid, on the way to Manchester?
I cannot remember, if she screamed as I touched her.

Our life is a journey, to finish from start.
Two of us together, with you in my heart.

Please say you'll be with me, for now and forever too.
Together you and I, there is nothing we can't do.
So was it the tall one, that I met in Birkenhead?
Did you see the photos, of us lying there in bed?

Love is the beginning, and love is the end.
Happy with each other, no need to pretend.

(pause, repeat no need to pretend...)
