Our Trains Are Off The Tracks
- Railtrack's failure to deliver
A few comments on the dismal state of the UK rail system.

Our trains are off the tracks.
They cannot take the cutbacks.
Why don't they seek opinions
Before they spend our billions?

Is it right to expect our railways to make a profit?
If we say that it is, then out of whose pocket?

I'd like to know how Stephen Byers
Can make our trains into Flyers.
I'd like to ask how Tony Blair
Is going to get the passengers there.

I think trains should be able to overtake, they need to innovate.
So then the sleek new express trains, could pass by the freight.

Just how happy will people be
With spruced-up platform scenery?
Can they cut down on petty crime
As well as getting trains on time?

They spend our money getting tables of arrival times together.
It would be better to have a timely train in every kind of weather.

Our rails have developed cracks.
The buffet is out of snacks.
It's time for you to complain
About the state of your train.
