In A Meeting
- Extreme boredom in a business meeting
Of course this one is not based on any true situation :-) But wouldn't you just hate to be in a meeting where you had no idea what was going on?

They stuck me in a meeting, now I'm eager to get out.
I wouldn't feel so bad though, if I knew what it's about.
I've read the full agenda, but its full of jargon words.
I find myself engrossed now, in the antics of the birds.

They've laid on lots of coffee, so I'll have a cup or two.
I'll eat a lot of biscuits, so I have something to do.
Everyone is smiling now, what am I doing here?
Will they ask a question? It's still totally unclear.

My mind is switching off again, I watch the slowing clock.
I fiddle with my biro, in between a tick and tock.
Though they think I'm taking notes, I'm sketching out a horse.
It doesn't really matter, as it's minuted of course.

They told me I would learn things, if I was to come along.
Well as far as I can see now, they were absolutely wrong.
I'd rather still be at my desk, and getting on with work.
I've finished with the horse now, so I'm on to Captain Kirk.

But then the moment happens, with something for me to say.
I've waited for three hours, but now I will earn my pay.
Now it's just one short sentence, but I've got them in my palm.
I'm cool, yes I'm collected, and above all I am calm.

"Yes" I say, "It's hot in here, I'll open up a window".
There it was with nothing more, until it was time to go.
I have a lovely picture, and now less ink in my pen.
They'll have to drag me screaming, before I do that again!
