A Girl Named Sue
- Detective walks into a bar an eyes a girl
A story about an American detective coming into a smoky downtown
bar and noticing a girl who is not all she seems.
[Read with a cool American drawl to a swinging rhythm.]
Let me tell you 'bout a girl named Sue.
She walks on the wild side, and dresses in blue.
She's a peach, from her head to her toes.
A vision of beauty, wherever she goes.
Yeah,
I saw her late, one night in a bar.
She was smiling at me, I smoked my cigar.
I made my way over, to her stool.
I looked her all over, she was really cool.
Yeah,
She held out her hand, and sat me down.
Her firm grip surprised me, I was new in town.
Let me tell you, that she was pretty.
Yeah but Sue was a man, oh such a pity.
So I told her, she wasn't my sort.
She really didn't mind, not what I had thought.
Yeah,
We both ended up, getting quite pissed.
I had such a great night, but never got kissed.
If I see her, I'll buy her a drink.
Sue walks on the wild side, and dresses in pink.
Yeah, she walks on the wild side, and dresses in pink.
