Bright Reality
- Much respect to the JägerMeister
Inspired by after effects of campfire drinking the night
before the Radiohead gig in Oxford. Beer and expensive
foreign spirits. (The gig was good too)
There's a bright white sheen on the paving stones.
I close my eyes but the brightness remains.
A pain in my head, my mind's in a spin.
My body reports, all manner of pains.
The passing cars rush by with sonic boom.
Russling leaves sound like cement being mixed.
So much for just one drink, it never is.
Something tells me that I must have got pissed.
My stomach it fights a losing battle,
To keep what little I've eaten within.
Walking in the cool fresh air is helping.
Still though keeping a short dash from the bin.
Warm pressure runs pulsating round my brain.
I try to think straight, but circles appear.
Then rushes of adrenaline surge through.
Thoughts focus then sharpen. Give me a beer.
