The Terminator
- Schwarzenegger's views on Bush
In the style of a TV "ask the president" show. The quotes from Mr. Bush are all taken from "More George W. Bushisms", edited by Jacob Weisberg, published by Simon & Schuster, New York (thanks Margo). I wrote this before Bush got re-elected in November 2004. And yes it is true that the "Terminator" is governor of California!

Announcer : "Good evening ladies and gentlemen.
This is your chance to put your questions to our president, Mr George W Bush. ..... Sir?"

Questioner : "Mr President sir, can I ask you what you think your chances are for re-election?"

Bush :

"Before I answer that question, I'd like to make clear my aims and beliefs."

"There's no question that the minute I got elected, the storm clouds on the horizon were getting very
nearly overhead. For every fatal shooting, there were roughly three non-fatal shootings.
And folks, this is unacceptable in America. It's just unacceptable. And we're going to do
something about it. The thing that's important for me is to remember what's the most important thing.
Home is important. It's important to have a home. I'm sure you can imagine it's an unimaginable
honour to live here. But if you've been laid off of work, you're 100% unemployed, and I worry about it.
It's very important for folks to understand that when there's more trade, there's more commerce.
Our nation must come together to unite."

"As for my chances of re-election, personally I'm very confident, but I'd like to let the
governor of California tell you what he thinks."

Announcer : "Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger"

Schwarzenegger :

"Oh he'll be back!
Cos he's the terminator.
He's the Saddam exterminator.
After his father, he's back for more.
This time around he'll settle the score.
This guy's coming back for sure!

We don't care about the national debt.
You ain't seen the best of us yet.
We will cut your taxes
And supply more axes
To our fire fighters for whom we give thanks,
And to our boys at war, we will supply more tanks.

George W Bush is not afraid to fight
For what he believes to be our right.
For our freedoms to envelop the earth.
For our companies to develop their worth.
For our people to have enough food.
For our country to have enough crude.

I am confident about the election.
I feel sure that the weight of the nation
Will give us the backing
And find the other guys lacking
In what they can offer that's new,
When our president here is true.

He has saved our country by renouncing
Plans in Kyoto which were announcing
The destruction of our economic wealth,
Advancement of poorer countries by stealth.
He has protected our great nation,
So he deserves appreciation.

When I came to this country I couldn't speak English.
So I much admire our president who is re-inventing it.

Yeah, he'll be back."
