Above The Knee
- Getting drunk at a party
Based on experiences that I can recall from my friend's
18th birthday party. My friend seemed very keen to replenish my drink
himself. At the time I didn't realise that this was because he was
adding Vodka to the already wicked Special Brew lager.
I saw a girl standing there, across the room from me.
She had the kind of dress on, that is way above the knee.
And as I watched discreetly, I think I caught her eye.
Just the briefest of glances, but my thoughts began to fly.
And as my mind it raced then, working out what to say
If I would dare approach her, if she came over my way.
With all of my charm and wit, and maximum romance,
Decided to go over, and ask if she cared to dance.
I had of course forgotten, beer consumed that evening.
It seemed to slow my footsteps, and gravity was reeling.
I was only half way there, but floor and I were one.
The rest I gathered later, because then my mind went numb.
It wasn't like me swearing, as walked around the block.
I was bad in the morning, and discovered then with shock.
She had been my mate's sister, an age I should not date.
Over before it began, now special brew I shall hate.
