No Need For Clutter
- Just throw those things out
Prompted by my clearing out things from my house. Sometimes
you just have to say "no, I will never use that again". [I have
been trying to get "There is beauty in simplicity" into a poem
for a while.]
What does the past matter?
It has shaped you.
It has made you who you are today.
It has achieved its purpose.
Its time has passed.
It may be discarded.
All those things that you have kept,
Just in case, just because,
To look at maybe sometime.
Let them go.
You will remember them if they are important.
You will forget them if they are not.
There is no need to clutter your house.
No need to clutter your mind.
Live for today and enjoy it.
Savour each moment.
Look forward to the next thing.
Don't feel the need for the past.
For that is only history.
What you do now is you.
What you aim to do will guide you.
There is beauty in simplicity
And in order wrought from chaos.
Assemble the pieces that surround you
Into the form that you want.
Gather to you the people that you love,
And make sure that they know.
Have no sadness for those you have left behind.
That is but a part of the journey of life.
A journey that moves forward
And has no need for looking back.
