You Can Beat Time With A Drum
- A little wordplay strangeness
OK, this one is just a bit wierd. Based on some odd phrases that have
amused me like raising a house to the ground (yes, I know raze is a different
word, but then that's poetic licence!). Read to a strong marching rhythm.
It's hard to march with the pace of life,
But you can beat time with a drum.
Try to walk as a runner in the race,
It's a one way trip round the sun.
You can't lift a cart or a horse by yourself,
But you can raise your house to the ground.
All you need is a hammer in your hand,
You can have that lot in a mound.
You won't like an orange if you can't take the pith,
Or take as long with the peal as bells.
Try to use a knife that's really sharp,
Or breakfast in fancy hotels.
Watch yourself if it's raining cats and dogs,
If they start to pee in the soup.
Pour the lot on the tablecloth and run,
Or tie it all up in a loop.
It's hard to march with the pace of life,
But you can beat time with a drum.
Yes you can beat time with a drum.
