Today it's national Poetry Day,
All of them poets got something to say.
A day to celebrate rhythm and verse.
Some are quite good and yet some of them worse.

Eminem man, is totally missing.
No respect for the mother he's dissin.
From all the talkin you'd think no one cares,
He utters the words that no one else dares.

Poet John Hegley I'm sure that you know
You wouldn't hear Bruno on the same show.
Everyone here can sit down and do it.
Don't need a licence when you're a poet.

No need for words that are making a rhyme.
Speak with conviction 'bout lager and lime.
List all the places in which you've had sex.
Tell us the way that you think of your ex.

It all makes a poem, when it makes sense.
Style is your own, and the range is immense.
Channel your thoughts and make ready your pen.
Your own inspiration will tell you when.
