Don't Want To Be Normal
- Don't read this if you are normal!
OK, so I won't offend anyone reading this. This is just a quick reflection on the fact that a number of the people I know would hate to be thought of as normal.

Normal people don't play the guitar.
Normal people wouldn't go that far
To see a charming man play a mandolin,
Or know what key he was playing in.

Normal people pass the flowers by.
Normal people will never ask why
There should be gender in a rose,
They just stand and point the hose.

I don't want to be normal.
It's more fun as a minority.
Don't tell me I'm normal.
It's not the way I want to be.

Normal people have less time for books.
Normal people care too much for looks
Or what colour they should paint the wall.
Never really talking to each other at all.

Normal people will rule the world.
Normal people hold a brolly unfurled
I run and skip and marvel at the rain
Falling from the sky, running to the drain.

I don't want to be normal.
It's more fun as a minority.
Don't tell me I'm normal.
It's not the way I want to be.
