Icons At Work
- Making our little space our own
Basically an excuse to get some silly rhymes together in one place!
Pete's got Budweiser, on his sun-visor.
He works in the city, as a financial advisor.
Anne's got Fred Perry, on her dictionary.
Works down Peckham high street, as a secretary.
Mick's got Kournikova, in big tattoos all over.
He works as a designer, making plastic parts for Rover.
Sam's got Alan Wicker, upon his bumper sticker.
Spends his time in Kentish fields, to be an apple picker.
John's got Britney Spears, where it ought to show his gears.
He drives a Ruddles truck, so that pubs can get their beers.
Sally's got Madonna, on a purse that she keeps on 'er.
She works in a kebab shop, and serves them all a doner.
Jim's got Jackie Chan, on anything he can.
He's a postie in the day, and drives a bright red van.
Jill's got Barry Sheen, racing on her screen.
She's worn leather trousers since she was seventeen.
Yes we've all got things with icons on,
To brighten up our lives.
From a postcard of a place we've been,
To a page from reader's wives!
